Who doesn’t love hot tikka chaat in this amazing weather? Well here’s our take on making the all favourite tikki into a healthy snack. Replacing some part of aloo with high fibre and high protein sprouts and some fibre will make this a guilt free recipe.
Ingredients for Tikkis (medium home size)
- Boiled mashed Potato – 1 cup
- Boiled mashed mixed sprouts/ moong- ½ cup
- Oat flour- 2 Tbsp
- Oat/ Wheat Bran – 2-3 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder- ½ tsp
- Salt – According to taste
- Ghee- to shallow fry tikkis
For serving:
Beaten Curds, Green Pudina Chutney, Date – Tamarind (Imli) Chutney, Chat Masala, Onion (Optional), Coriander (optional)
Method
- Mix all the tikki ingredients together in a bowl. Check for salt, also it shouldn’t be too spicy.
- Take a non stick pan and cook tikkis on both sides with little ghee, till crispy.
- Serve hot topped with curd, cutneys, chat masala and rings of onion/coriander.
Tips
- Using ghee would give a better aroma than oil.
- Remember to limit amount of oil/ghee when shallow frying.
- The same tikka can be used for making ragda pattice.
- You can use an air fryer for the tikkis ( make sure to brush with ghee/ oil.
